Charles W. Hester

  Charles W. 'Charlie' Hester, 51, of Robin Lane in Falmouth, died unexpectedly Thursday, 
May 29, 2003 at a Portland hospital.
He was born in Providence, RI, a son of Richard A. and Thelma T. (Merikoski) Hester.
Charlie was educated in Brunswick Schools and was a graduate of Brunswick High Class 
of 1970. He was also a graduate of the University of Maine at Fort Kent and Southern 
Maine Technical College.
He was employed as an eletronics technician at National Semi Conductor & Fairchilds for
20 years.
Charlie was a member of the Holy Martyrs Parish in Falmouth. He was a member of the 
Portland Rugby Club and was an avid skier and golfer.
Charlie was a devoted husband and father and was very proud of his children and followed 
and supported all of their athletic and school events in their younger years, he coached 
youth soccer, softball and baseball in Falmouth.
Charlie enjoyed life and loved spending time with his large extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by a sister, Ann H. Kearns in January of this year.
Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Maureen Foely-Hester of Falmouth; a son, Andrew C. 
Hester and daughter, Bridget F. Hester of Falmouth; a sister, Meri-Linn Dumenigo of 
Brunswick; two brothers, Joseph and James Hester of Brunswick, brother-in-law, Kevin 
Kerns of Taunton, Mass.; two aunts, Helu Moore and Ilma Tiakanen; mother-in-law, 
Gertrude Foley of Portland; sisters-in-law, Sharron McCqrthy and husband Tom, Colleen
Foley and Husband Kent Redding, Cathy Foley, and Patty Kenney and husband, Barry; 
brothers-in-law, Marty, Joe, Kevin and Mark Foley; and many nieces, nephews, and 
cousins.
Visiting hours will be held 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 100 
Woodford Street, where prayers will be recited 10 a.m., Monday. A mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated 11 a.m., Monday at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, 266 Foreside Rd., 
Falmouth.
